It takes 6’ to reach the ringroad of M.Imittos A64 (it passes southeast of the suburb) and less than 15’ to reach the major ringroad of Athens, Attiki Odos (E9/A6).

The suburb/municipal unit of Papagos, an area of approximately 3.100m₂ at an altitude of 232m, is part of the Municipality of Papagos-Cholargos – one of the 73 municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of Athens that sprawl around the city to all directions – and is located in the (north) eastern part of the Athens agglomeration (Northern Athens Regional Unit). Named after the Marshal Alexandros Papagos, the general who led the Greek Army in the Second World War and Greek Civil War and served also as Prime Minister, Papagos was founded in the 1950s for the housing, exclusively, of military personnel.
